Job Summary

Kforce is seeking a Network Engineer in Tampa, FL. This role involves implementing and managing network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, SDN, and OT networks, with a focus on Cisco technologies. Key responsibilities include patching/upgrading Cisco equipment, designing and maintaining network infrastructure, troubleshooting server and network issues, and ensuring network security and compliance. The engineer will also lead and develop the Technology Network team and manage the budget.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Implement, and manage the organization's network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, SDN, and OT networks, ensuring performance, scalability, and reliability
  • Oversee the deployment and maintenance of Cisco network technologies, ensuring secure and efficient operations through proactive monitoring and troubleshooting
  • Lead and develop the Technology Network team, including recruitment, training, performance management, and fostering a high-performance culture
  • Utilize data and metrics to guide decision-making, track KPIs, review SLAs, and continuously improve network performance and project outcomes
  • Ensure network security and compliance by developing and enforcing policies, procedures, and standards aligned with industry regulations
  • Manage the Technology Network budget and vendor relationships, ensuring cost-effective solutions and successful contract negotiations
  • Drive operational excellence by creating and optimizing processes, procedures, and automation to improve efficiency and service delivery

Day-to-Day:

  • Main functions: patching/upgrading Cisco network equipment (routers/switches)
  • Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure, including Cisco routers, switches, and wireless access points across
  • Replace routers and switches at client sites
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless installation and configuration of server and storage infrastructure
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve server, network, DDoS protection, and NetScaler load balancer issues
  • Provide project leadership and consult with peers on security-related matters

Requirements

  • 8-10 years of experience planning/designing, implementing, and supporting new and existing network Devices
  • Experience with Cisco routers, Switches and Wireless Access Points
  • Experience patching/upgrading Cisco network equipment (routers /Switches)
  • Router/switch configurations/break-fix

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
